GROVE, OK. --- The Lowe's Heroes program teamed up with the Grove Family YMCA to restore an after-school building located on the lower elementary campus. The classroom floors were repaired by Lowe's workers and a new brick walkway was installed. An eagle scout troop also volunteered their time by re-painting the walls inside the facility.

More than 250 hours were spent on the two-week project.

"This has been something that's been needing to be done for a long time, and I was just like almost in tears when I finally got to see it. I kept coming in and looking at it, and I was like "Oh my gosh" this look great, and the kids, the kids are so excited. They walked in and their eyes were like this big," says School-Age Childcare Program Coordinator, Kylie Jarvis.

The after school program staff say the building improvements have created a safe and better learning environment for students.
