TEXAS - More than 15 billion dollars in aid is on its way for Southeast Texas after the region was decimated by Hurricane Harvey a few weeks ago. President Trump asked for, and received, quick passage of the aid package.
But many four state federal law makers voted against the bill.
Southwest Missouri's 7th District Representative Billy Long and 4th district Representative Vicki Hartzler voted against the plan as did Kansas 2nd District Representative Lynn Jenkins.
Long and Jenkins voted no because the bill increased the federal debt ceiling and Hartzler objected to the stipulation that freezes spending for the Department of Defense.
Missouri Senators Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill voted in favor of the bill.
