As of June 10th, 157 people have died in motor vehicle crashes in Kansas. That is more than 30 reported fatalities from May of last year.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Kansas ranks 40th in the country in 2013 for the percentage of people who fastened their seatbelts in a moving car.
Crawford, Cherokee and Labette county all have more than an 80% safety belt use rate.
