JOPLIN, MO.--- A Joplin man will go to prison for his involvement in an officer-involved shooting. A judge sentenced John Gage to seven years in prison. Gage pled guilty back in November to 1st Degree Attempted Assault on an Officer.

The charges stem from an incident in March of last year, when two undercover officers heard two people arguing in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 15th and Range Line. When the authorities responded, the suspects got into a pick-up and tried to run one of the officers over. The officer opened fire, hitting both people inside the truck.
