JOPLIN, Mo. - The Joplin Job Center partners with local veteran associations to help retired military personnel in need of work.
Tomorrow veterans can come to polish their resumes and prepare for various kinds of job interviews from 10 A.M. To 3 P.M.
On Friday, the center invited more than 20 employers to come learn about working with individuals with P.T.S.D. at a luncheon.
"A lot of times veterans when coming back from the service or having been back into the civilian life have a hard time communicating those skills that they've gained in the miliarty. And employers on the other hand have a hard time understanding those skills," says Joplin Job Center's Functional Leader, Troy Roland.
Employers will also have the chance to set up interviews or hire on veterans on Friday.
Partners for the event include Compass Quest Regional Vet Services, True North Enterprises, and Brotherhood Of Warriors.
