JOPLIN, MO---The agreement is with Bowen National Research that will cost the city $14,900. Through this study, the city is going to look at any gaps in existing housing conditions in Joplin and provide recommendations in strategies to improve those gaps. The city says they need this stud to help implement housing programs such as a disaster relief program and action plans.

Planning and Community Development Specialist, Patrick Clark, says, "This will help us promote and also establish policies and procedures for when we start implementing those programs."

The last time a housing analysis was conducted in Joplin was in 2011 right after the tornado. Clark says after any disastrous situation, they need to update their information and through this study they can do that.
