JOPLIN, MO.--- The Joplin Crusaders are kicking off their season for a good cause. This Saturday, the team will give a portion of their proceeds to help benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. The team's kick off event will be held on the parking lot at MSSU's John Hughes Stadium from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The Crusaders hope to show their appreciation to the military come Saturday night.

"It's just a very special thing in our hearts. You know the fact that those guys go out there and put their lives on the line for us, you know we feel it is a privilege to go put it on the line for them on a Saturday," said Sam Sturgis, Football Player.

The Crusaders will kick off at five Saturday against the SWMO Knights. Last season, an average of 1,300 fans attended each home game and this year they hope to double those numbers. For more information, click here
