CARL JUNCTION, MO--- A dedication ceremony took place today in Carl Junction to honor a former assistant superintendent.

The Carl Junction Board of Education and staff members dedicated the school districts transportation facility in rememberance of  Joe Patterson. Joe Patterson served as assistant superintentdent in the Carl Junction school district for 23 years. His oldest son Steve Patterson says his father was in charge of food service and facility upkeep in the district. But he was most known for his management of the transportation department.

"All of the school buses were under his charge. He called on, whether or not school would be in session when it would snow and those kinds of things. And, by the way it always was in session when it snowed, because if he could get his car to go through the snow he knew a bus could." said Steve Patterson, oldest son.

All the school buses in the district will be stored at the Joe Patterson transportation facility.
