JOPLIN, MO.--- A student club at Joplin High School will be competing in a national competition this spring. The school's Constitution Team won a "We The People" competition in January at Jefferson City and will now travel to Washington D.C. The nationwide competition tests students in American government, politics, and the U.S. Constitution. The Joplin team has 14 students. Joplin High School's Constitution Team coach says the students spend a lot of free time getting ready for competition.

"We don't have a lot of the resources that a lot of the schools that have "We The People" and so it's really primarily the students making it happen," said William Keczkemethy.

This is the third time in four years a group from Joplin High School will be competing in the national competition.
