JASPER, Mo. - Deputies received complaints about headstones damaged at Paradise Cemetery, located just south of Jasper. They say a total of 15 headstones were damaged.
Officials believe the crime happened in the week leading up to March 17th. The Sheriff's Office has received numerous calls from family members worried their loved ones graves were vandalized.
"This is a place of respect," explained Jasper County Detective Tim Williams. "To come and pay respect to the ones who have lost their lives and who have passed on, to come and do something like this is absolutely unacceptable and disgraceful."
