Integris Grove Telemedicine Technology Program
GROVE, OK.--- Stroke patients can now benefit from the hospital's new Telemedicine Technology Program. It allows a patient to receive an immediate referral from the hospital's E.R. physicians to a neurologist in Oklahoma City. Grove physicians simply contact the neurologist and, within minutes, the neurologist will appear on a computer monitor. The neurologist will then be able to do an assessment of a patient using the video camera.
"Having a primary certified stroke center here in this region. Is that patients will be able to come here, they will be able to receive the full complementative care that yout would in other higher quality hospitals," said Angie Bidleman, Integris Grove Chief Nursing Officer.
The new Telemedicine helps save resources for small hospitals who are unable to hire a neurologist. Stroke patients are able to receive a faster response without having to travel long distances to see a neurologist.
