JOPLIN, MO -
While fall is on its way it is more than just leaves and cooler weather.
It's also time for hunting season. Archery deer and turkey season run from September fifteenth to November 10th then again from November 22nd to january 15th of next year. Turkey season for firearms runs from October first until the 31st and firearms for deer runs from novemebr 11th to the 21st. The Missouri Department of Conservation has also put in a new rule this year limiting hunters to only two antlered deer in both firearm and archery season. While it's not here yet, some hunters are willing to try hunting some new game this time.
"I think if the right friend set me up with a good deer hunting situation. Like he had the gun, the ammo, the experience to show me the way, and train me, and sit there with me, and do it right. I think I could be talked into it." says Maurice Babcock, who is intrested in new game to hunt this season.
The Missouri Department of Conservation requires that hunters get their permits beofre they get into the field.
