OKLAHOMA - Almost every corner of the United States has been infested with influenza. In Oklahoma 22 people have now died from the virus.
According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health there have been more than one thousand hospitalizations since September first for flu-like symptoms.
Hundreds have been reported since the start of the new year.
Just this month alone there have been four deaths from the virus adding to the 22 people who've died since September 1st of last year.
To help prevent the flu the CDC says to avoid close contact with others and stay home when you're sick.
Always make sure to cover your mouth and nose when coughing, and avoid touching your face.
The CDC urges you to always clean your hands often to help protect from germs, if not soap and water use an alcohol-based hand rub.
