PITTSBURG -- Workers and volunteers broke ground on a $130,000, 15,000 foot expansion of the Wesley House Sunday. The building is currently home to the southeast Kansas food pantry, which helps feed thousands of people each year. The addition will be used to increase warehouse space for food and supplies. Wesley House leaders say the larger space could help them offer assistance to more people in need.
"This will just make our life easier, and enable us to have more food available and use the donations that are given more efficiently," says Wesley House Pastor Ellie Foster.
Construction of the new addition should be completed by this fall.
