BELLA VISTA, AR.--- A Pineville man is behind bars for an attempted murder in Bella Vista. Bella Vista police arrested Orville "Mitch" Goodwin, 61, on charges of attempted capital murder and aggravated robbery.

Back in May, 2 horseback riders found the victim, Annette Rapalee, badly injured in a dry creek bed. Police later learned she had been shot in the face and possibly beaten. Authorities say she has since been released from the hospital and is now in rehab.

Thanks to help from agencies in Missouri, police say they've developed a strong case against Goodwin. "It did take a lengthy period of time to develop the information but before we arrested him, we wanted to be confident that we had some charges that were going to stick and we feel like we do now," said Chief Ken Farmer, Bella Vista Police Department.

Goodwin will be held for a bond hearing set to take place within 48 hours.
