Joplin Temporary Project Manager Position Open

JOPLIN, MO.--- The city of Joplin is looking for a temporary project manager to help with disaster grant funds. Joplin city council members approved the new position in last night's meeting.

The new job will require someone to manage, supervise and distribute about $160 million in Community Development Block Grants. The funds are to only be used to help with tornado recovery projects. The assistant city manager says having someone in this position will help manage the projects more efficiently.

"I think they realize that we have a very dedicated hard working staff upstairs, but when you bring in an extra $160 million, you need some extra hands on deck to help administer those programs and those projects," said Sam Anselem, Assistant City Manager.

He adds the new position will help the city stay in compliance with CDBG program requirements.
