JOPLIN, MO.--- Computer software companies HP, Intel, and Microsoft joined forces to amp up the Joplin Adoption and Resource Center. They gave the shelter new computers, installed new servers and wireless internet connection. All upgrades will allow shelter employees to work more efficiently. the shelter also got a interactive Kiosk, where people can search for new  or lost pets. HP also partnered with Heartland Computer Solutions in Joplin to the new system.

"It's not really about the it, it's about how we can change the life of humans and in this case animals alike," states Jeff Carlat, HP Director of Marketing.

"The technology is actually going to make us so much more user friendly for the community when they come out," states Lisa, Joplin Human Society. 

The upgrade cost of $40,000 and was completely funded by the software companies.
