Commissioner Richard Hilderbrand says the measure will only effect structures in unincorporated areas of the county. He says the goal is to improve community safety, and appearance.
"It affects people in where they live, their pride of ownership, the value of their land, it just affects everything. Perception is very key in that," said Richard Hilderbrand, Cherokee County Commission.
The ordinance will go into effect next week, after it's printed in the county newspaper of record.
