JOPLIN, MO.--- A new donor fulfills a promise to the Joplin Animal Adoption and Resource Center. Representatives with Blue Buffalo donated their first shipment of dog food.

The company stepped in the help the center after Mars Petcare announced last week it could no longer provide food donations. Society employees say they can rest easy knowing 5 pallets with more than 7,000 pounds of food has arrived. That's enough to feed all adult dogs for 1 month.

"We have that sense of security now. We're not all going to be constantly begging for food, and just to have that reassurance that our animals will be taken care of," said Tianna Fisher, Joplin Humane Society.

Mars has given the shelter coupons to use on what's left of their food, and a new shipment from Blue Buffalo will be delivered each month.
