Crawford County Man Pleads Guilty to Tax Fraud

ARMA, KS.--- A Crawford County man pleads guilty to receiving millions of dollars for filing false federal tax returns. Jerold Fisher, 49, of Arma plead guilty to one county of filing a false federal tax return. He admitted that from 2006 to 2009, while a registered agent for Fisher Alfalfa Farms, he prepared false federal tax returns for both himself and his mother. That resulted in tax refunds not owed to them. Over the years, he received more than $4 million in refunds. Sentencing is set for May 27th. He could receive three years in prison and pay more than $4 million in restitution.
