WEBB CITY, MO --- Webb City council members are planning a work session to discuss the future of an old gas station in the city.

The U.S. Filling Station is from the early 1900's and located on the corner of Daugherty Street and Liberty.

Webb City Mayor John Biggs said the station was donated to the city with the implication that the city would refurbish it.  Another option is for the city to sell the filling station to a private group.

Biggs said he would like to see the city keep the old gas station.

"We were just put on the historic register, and that's one of the, this would be the first building that we have an opportunity to, uh, refurbish and make it part of the historic district," Biggs said.

Biggs said the filling station in webb city is one of the oldest gas stations in the county.
