JOPLIN, MO --- A local group comes together to help out a fellow veteran in his time of need. The Fox 4-9 chapter of the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association hosted a chili feed at the Joplin Elks Lodge this afternoon. It was all to raise money for a member of their group, whose home is in dire need of a new roof. Members say the organization exists so war veterans have a support system, which is what today's event was all about.

"It's a brotherhood that only people who have been there understand, so if we see somebody that is in need, we want to help them," said John Williams, member.

The event also kicked off the raffle of an M-4 rifle that will be given away on Memorial Day weekend.
