CARL JUNCTION, Mo. - The event recognizes the best of the community, including businesses and educators. This the 17th year for the event.
There was also a special honor this year for outgoing mayor Mike Morris. Morris has served on the council for 20 years, 12 of those as mayor.
Carl Junction leaders say it's not just one person though that makes the city a great place to call home.
"It is just recognizing the citizens," explained CJ City Admin. Steve Lawver. "It's a great community to live in and it's a great community to serve."
In addition to handing out awards, the chamber also held a silent auction at the night's banquet.
