City of Joplin asks residents to recycle their trees after the holidays

Joplin (MO)- The city of Joplin is reminding people to think green once the Christmas holiday is over.

Three collection points will be available to recycle natural, live Christmas trees, beginning December 26th and running through January 31st. Residents within the city of Joplin limits can simply drop off their tree anytime, strip it of all decorations, and place it near the "Christmas tree" designated area. Locations include Humprey’s Park, Mcindoe Park, And the Public Works Center.

Additionally, any gift wrapping paper, bottles, cans, greeting cards, cooking oil, and packing materials like peanuts and bubble wrap can be dropped off at the recycling center on west a street. Drop off times for the recycling center are Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 6pm. Then Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9am until 3pm.
