CARTHAGE, MO --- The Southwest Missouri DWI Task Force will work this weekend to stop people from driving while intoxicated.

The Carthage Police Department is having its first DWI checkpoint of the year.  The sobriety checkpoint will be conducted within the city of Carthage.

The focus of the checkpoint is to reduce deaths and serious injuries caused by impaired drivers.  If caught driving while intoxicated, you could lose your license, your job, and go to jail.
