Carl Junction School Board approves launch of trap shooting program

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. - A trap shooting team was approved last night at the school board meeting.

Up to ten students will get a chance to compete in six-clay shooting meets around Missouri.

Coaches say this is a great way to reach out to those students who enjoy hunting.

"This will allow students that aren't participating in other sports or activities an outlet to express their school pride and spirit and be part of a team in order for the school to get better," explained trap shooting coach Jaren Richmond.

The season will start March of 2018 and end that May.
