Carl Junction High School FFA 'Food for America' Event
By Brad Douglas
CARL JUNCTION, MO.--- Students get a chance to learn about what it takes to put food on their dinner tables. The Carl Junction High School Future Farmers of America group hosted a "Food for America" event today. More than 125 third grade students from the district had a chance to learn about different types of animals found on the farm. They also learned about agriculture and what it takes to make crops grow. 21 different stations were set up to show students where food comes from.
"It teaches them what animals we used for our food, and that farmers are a big part of how we get our food," said Kendall Goodyear, Carl Junction Senior FFA.
The event has a been a tradition for more than a decade and many of the high school students say they remember the event from when they were in the third grade.
