CARTHAGE, MO.--- Sgt. David Martin has been working for the Carthage Police Department for the past 27 years. He says working on Labor Day isn't a big deal. He's had to do it off and on for years.
"I don't recall the last time I worked a Labor Day. They're not any different than  Memorial Day or 4th of July. They're either really nice and peaceful or you're just swamped," said Sgt. David Martin, Carthage Police Department.

Martin went on patrol, was able to catch up on paperwork and also check up on the police vehicles.
