JOPLIN, MO.--- Dozens of less fortunate families will be able to keep warm this winter thanks to the generosity of an area quilting group. The Town and Country Quilters Group of Joplin donated 160 quilts that they have been working on for more than a year. The groups that received them include the Children's Haven, Children's Crisis Center, The Lafayette House and Life Choices. Organizers have donated the quilts for more than 20 years and they say cuddling under a quilt is like getting a big hug.

"To me, a quilt is a comfort. You lay down and wrap up in it. You've got warm loving arms around you," said Anne Barker, Town And Country Quilts.

The group relies on donations of quilting supplies. If you would like to donate, you can call 417-529-4919
