JOPLIN, MO.--- A Lamar man is making recycled art. David Matthews works at a recycling plant in Lamar. He noticed that much of the recycled plastic can form odd shapes and sizes. He decided to add some paint to create some abstract art. His art is on display at the Post Memorial Art Library in Joplin. He says all of his life he has been seeing art in the strangest of places.

"Starts to ooze and drip on the floor and start forming shapes, so I obviously had to do something with them," said David Mathews, Artist.

Matthews' art will be on display until the end of the month. The Post Museum is located inside the Joplin Public Library.
