NEOSHO, MO.--- Workers at the Neosho Fish Hatchery are draining four different ponds to clean for algae. Several thousand fish have to be emptied from the ponds and moved to a different shelter. The algae builds up and makes the water cloudy, which can be bad for fish.

"Really becomes a problem and starts clogging up our screens and wrapping fish around it and stuff. So if we can keep that free, it's really a lot easier," said Justin Perkins, Biologist.

The algae will be cooked by the sun and then recycled into the ground.
