JOPLIN, MO.--- The art was discovered under this stairwell and many thought it was just an average storage closet. Several hundred pieces of priceless African exhibits were stored there for more than a decade. The pieces were donated to MSSU from several families over the years. Staff say it was a nice surprise and they have been pulling out the pieces and organizing them over the last few weeks. When they discovered it all, they say it felt like a scene from a movie.

"So yeah, it literally is hidden. It was kind of like, you know Indiana Jones without all the drama I guess," said Christine Bentley, MSSU Art Department.

The pieces are currently being organized and cataloged for an upcoming gala.
