JOPLIN, MO.--- Several thousand people are lining up to get their tea fix on Range Line Road in Joplin. This is the 5th Annual Free Tea Day at McAlisters Deli in Joplin. The goal is to thank their current customers and recruit new ones. They expect to serve 2,500 glasses in one day.

In 2011, Joplin was named the "Tea Town USA" since it received more votes online than any other McAlisters in the country. The group was able to receive $16,000 to help rebuild Cunningham Park after the tornado. Workers say it takes a lot of work to pull off the event.

"We just get our staff amped up for it, ready to go. Plan weeks ahead of time. Just getting prepared going through all the items we need to get it done," said Josh Bussey, McAlister Assistant Manager.
