Brad's Beat: Dream Foundation Helps Grant Local Cancer Patient's Last Wish
By Brad Douglas
JOPLIN, MO.--- 84 year old Marion Stone has been diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. Her friend and Freeman social worker, Ginger Brown, asked her what was left on her bucket list. All she wanted was to visit with her grandchildren one last time. So, they contacted the Dream Foundation in California and they helped bring both grandchildren here. Stone says everyone should empty their bucket list before their time is up.
"Marian do you have a bucket list? I said yes, it has a hole in the bottom but it's overflowing," said Marion Stone, 84 years old.
"It was something she had always planned on doing, but didn't get time to do it. It was important that they got back together," said Ginger Brown, Freeman Cancer Institute.
Freeman is currently working with two other patients to make their dreams come true.
