JOPLIN, MO.--- A small dog at the Joplin Humane Society isn't going to let a back injury stop her from finding a home. Precious is a dachshund and she recently hurt her back. Her owner wasn't able to take care of her with all of her physical therapy needs. So the shelter took her in and already had a cart available for her, it was donated to them a few years ago. Precious has been using it for the past three weeks to learn how to walk again. Shelter workers say the little dog is very inspirational with her courage and determination.
"If this little dog can get up in the morning and be happy, greet us all. It's hard to find an excuse for people like myself to not get up and be happy," said Lysa Boston, Shelter Manager.

Precious is up for adoption at the shelter.
