JOPLIN, MO.--- This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week, and 2 volunteers are thankful they found love on the job. One of the first faces you see when you enter Freeman Health System in Joplin is Ken Wise and his wife Nancy.

The couple has been married for 8 years and met while volunteering at the hospital. They work at the front desk, directing patients and greeting people at the door. They say there are perks to finding love later in life.

"I'm getting older, it's nice to have some one to fall back on. I had no relatives in the area," said Ken Wise, Husband.

"I understand he proposed because he was madly in love with me. I didn't know it because I'm suppose to take care of him," said Nancy Wise, Wife.

Ken is a kid at heart, on one of their first dates he picked his bride up on a motorcycle. She wouldn't' get on the back, so he had to go home to get his Corvette instead.
