JOPLIN, MO.--- A once popular Joplin hangout for kids has received a makeover. A ribbon cutting was held at the Victory Ministry and Sports Complex formally known as the "Bridge." The center is now open to all ages.

A large gymnasium is located where the skateboard park used to be. Kids can play basketball, practice archery and exercise. Organizers say they hope with a new mission they'll attract more kids and give them something fun to do.

"The area needs it. All about bringing youth together from all over. Keeping them off the streets," said T.J. Britton, Director of Gym.

An open house was held this evening for people to check out the new facility. Starting next week, the price of entry will be $3 a child.
