If they want more supplies, they have to roll a shopping cart up a block to their larger pantry just to get supplies and then bring it back. Workers say they have faith that area residents will help them raise the money.
"We asked God for it and I think he's doing a great job so far. I believe he's going to do the rest. We need help," said Jan Burres, Shelter Manager.
If you would like to donate to the kitchen renovation you can drop off money at 917 south Main Street in Joplin. You can also call them at 417-623-2550. They hope to raise the money by June.
