GALENA, KS.--- A new Route 66 mural is turning some heads on the Mother Road. "Images in Tile" from Joplin have been working all week at 7th and Main in Galena. More than 400 tiles are being installed on the side of the building.

The tiles depict famous landmarks in the city. Workers say the tiles will not fade and have a life span of a 100 years. All week tourists from around the globe have been stopping by to check out the mural.

"We're not ever done with it. It's just amazing, we're getting waves and smiles from people," said Paul Whitehill, Images in Tile.

The project should be completed by Tuesday of next week. "Images in Tile" will start a similar project in July at 7th and Main in Joplin.
