JOPLIN, MO.--- An area church is cooking up several hundred pies for a good cause. This is the 20th year the Byers Avenue Church in Joplin is having their pie sale. The profits from the sale help pay the bills at the church.

This year they are also donating a portion to tornado relief in Moore, Oklahoma. Last year, they baked 1,200 pies, this year they hope to top that record. The volunteers spend long 14 hour days in the kitchen.

"We have to go to our day jobs to rest up," said Jane Obert, Loves Pies.

If you would like to order one of the pies you can call (417) 624-3647.
