CARTHAGE, MO.--- Hundreds of area kids are showing off their livestock at the annual Jasper County Youth Fair. Anastasia Clemons and Matthew Meyer are competing cousins from Sarcoxie. They both are showing cows in the competition.

They've been competing in shows for most of their lives and are third generation farmers. The two say it's a fun week long event that they look forward to each year. They say it takes a lot of work to make the cow attractive to the judges. Sometimes the cows are divas and just don't want to be touched.

"Some will buck and kick, some will drag or take you for a ride," said Mathew Meyer, 14 years old.

The fair continues until this Saturday. The two cousins will go head to head, or cow to cow on Thursday.
