JOPLIN, MO.--- It's to honor them for National Service Remembrance Day which is on September 11th. They are collecting potato chips, popcorn, snack cakes for the Joplin firefighters. The kids know that the firefighters often have to wait around at the stations for long periods of time. They want them to have something to snack on while they waiting to save lives.

"We've got a great partnership with our firefighters here in Joplin and this was an opportunity for them to give back to the community and show their appreciation," said Sarah McMullen, Boys and Girls Club.

If you would like to drop off snacks, you can do so at the Boys and Girls Club. It's located at 317 Comingo Avenue in Joplin. They're collecting items until September 10th.
