PITTSBURG, KS--- Dozens of children race to the finish line in Pittsburg's Big Brothers, Big Sisters Try-Athlon. 136 children competed in the triathlon, which included swimming, biking, and running. Organizers say this event is designed to get the community active and moving. They also want children to benefit from trying something new and learning how to compete amongst their peers.
"We have people who have come from Branson, Topeka, Manhattan, and Wichita, Kansas City, all over for all three of our events. So, we're bringing income and recognition to Crawford County and our organization Big Brothers, Big Sisters," according to Joanna Rhodes, Race Director of the Try-Athlon.
All proceeds from the event will help fund operations at Big Brothers, Big Sisters in Pittsburg.
