JOPLIN, MO.--- Beth Williams, 28, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the Abuse or Neglect of a Child, a Class B felony. Williams was originally charged with 1st degree assault and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Those charges were dismissed in exchange for her guilty plea.

In July 2012, Williams and her roommate Christina Haidle were charged after Williams' 3 year old daughter was rushed to the hospital with extreme malnutrition. Court papers say the girl weighed just 12 pounds, had a blood sugar level of zero, a body temperature too low to register and a pulse so faint, CPR had to be administered. Doctors considered the condition so severe as to the life-threatening. The girl was eventually placed in foster care.

In February of this year, Christina Haidle was sentenced to 15 years in prison for child abuse.
