JOPLIN, MO--- The American Advertising Awards, or ADDY Awards, were held Saturday evening at the Joplin Elk's Lodge. The award show is to congratulate all local advertising professionals. About 100 awards were handed out to around 50 different agencies, both in-house and design firms, and students.

The chair for the ADDY Awards, Cody Langford, says the ceremony allows people to engage with others in the industry. "We've had a club here in the local area for about 30 years and we've been doing the ADDY's for about 28. It's a chance for all the advertising professional to get together, have some fun, then pat each other on the back."

Thirty gold awards and 50 to 60 silver awards were handed out. Some agencies up for the awards include: Freeman, Little Bird Marketing, Leggett & Platt and some independent creative professionals.
