JOPLIN, MO.--- Dr. Bruce Speck and his daughter Rose-Marie Speck have opened "Above Grade Level" in Joplin. The program allows kids to get tutoring from certified educators and tutors outside of the school environment. Leaders of the organization say it's disappointing to see students in college spending federal financial aid on developmental English and math classes instead of earning credit towards college degrees.

"This was important in terms of our background with higher education to do what we felt we could do to prepare students before they get into college or before they go into a career to be successful," said Rose-Marie Speck, At Above Grade Level Regional Manager.

"Above Grade Level" will be available for students in Bentonville this fall.
