71st Carver Day Celebration

DIAMOND, MO---Today marked the 71st Carver Day celebration at George Washington Carver National Monument. Park Ranger Curtis Gregory says this is a day to celebrate the establishment of the park, as well as, the contributions and accomplishments of George Washington Carver.
Many activities were held on the park grounds, that included: exhibitors, live music, guest speakers and craft stations. Gregory says they Celebrate George Washington Carver's life on a daily basis but today is extra special.

Park Ranger Curtis Gregory, "This park was established in 1943 and it's just a wonderful day that we set aside each year to celebrate everything about George Washington Carver's life."

More than 1300 people came out to celebrate Carver Day.
