    Steven Charles, RPh, FACA


    Steven received his BS degree in 1973 from Abilene Christian University and received his BS in Pharmacy in 1976 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.  He is licensed in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. Steven also holds a certificate in Individual Hormone Replacement Therapy from the Professional Compounding Center of America.

    Brian Phelps, PharmD

    Brian graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1995. After working as a quality control chemist, he returned to school to pursue a career in pharmacy. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 2007 with a Doctor of Pharmacy. He is a member of Rho Chi, the Kansas Phamacists Association and National Community Pharmacists Association.

      Oswego Drug Store, in Oswego, Kansas, is a full service drug store that has served the community since 1984.  In 1996, we constructed a laboratory and began specializing in compounding customized medications.

    Our second location, Ozark Compounding Pharmacy in Joplin, Missouri, opened in 2002 and is a compounding only pharmacy.

  • What is Compounding? 
    Compounding combines an ageless art with the latest medical knowledge and state-of-the-art technology, allowing specially trained professionals to prepare customized medications to meet each patient’s specific needs. Compounding is fundamental to the profession of pharmacy and was a standard means of providing prescription medications before drugs began to be produced in mass quantities by pharmaceutical manufacturers. The demand for professional compounding has increased as health care professionals and patients realize that the limited number of strengths and dosage forms that are commercially available do not meet the needs of many patients, and that these patients often have a better response to a customized dosage form that is "just what the doctor ordered".
